About Harrington's Architecture and Design.

Ian Harrington has been working for private practice architects since 1973; and most recently as design director for Westbury Garden Rooms Ltd. He has been a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) since 1978, and is a contributor to Conservation in Essex guide to extension of historic buildings.  The client list is impressive and testimonials can be provided.

Based in the village of Earls Colne near Colchester, Ian has built up a sound relationship with Planning Officers and Building Conservation Officers particularly in Kent, Essex, Suffolk and East Herts areas.

He has a proven reputation for producing successful concept designs, illustrated by hand drawings, and has a consultative approach to the design process. The only way to guarantee designing a scheme that the client is going to really love, is to fully understand their needs and those of the property.

Ian's services also include: measured site/building surveys, feasibility studies, planning research and advice, concept and detailed designs, planning applications and appeals, listed building applications, cost budgeting, working drawings, architectural detailing, specification, obtaining building contract tenders and specialist quotations, contract supervision and site inspection.

Beyond this, he operates within a network of other related specialists and consultants in the field of Planning Law, Building Regulations, Energy Conservation, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Interior and Landscape Design to provide a full, multi-disciplined service.

Harrington’s Architecture and Design can tailor services as part of a package or to suit individual requirements; for an hourly consultancy charge or a fixed fee charge option, whichever is beneficial to you. Please feel free to contact Ian
